Why there’s no fast or right way to build a business (and why that’s okay)
Let’s face it: the internet is full of promises.
Promises of quick wins, foolproof strategies, and “ultimate” blueprints to success. Scroll long enough, and you’ll be inundated with ads telling you how to make six figures in 30 days or achieve overnight success by following a one-size-fits-all formula.
Tempting, right? But let me tell you something I’ve learned through my own journey, there’s no simple, “right,” or “fast” way to do business. And honestly? That’s a good thing.
Why there’s no one-size-fits-all formula for business success
When I first started my entrepreneurial journey, I was just as eager as anyone to figure out “the best way.”
I wanted to believe there was a shortcut, a surefire method that would deliver the results I dreamed of. But the deeper I got into the process (experimenting with Instagram, launching a newsletter, even dipping my toes into YouTube) the more I realized something crucial: what works for someone else might not work for you. And that’s okay.
Business Is personal: find what works for YOU
Every entrepreneur is unique. We all have different strengths, goals, and ways of working.
What feels natural to one person might feel forced to another.
That’s why chasing someone else’s “perfect strategy” often leads to frustration or burnout, because it’s not tailored to who you are.
For example, I’ve seen people swear by cold outreach as their ticket to success. For me? It’s never felt authentic.
Instead, I thrive when I can connect with people through storytelling: whether it’s on Instagram, in this newsletter, or through YouTube. That’s my lane.
Finding it didn’t happen overnight, but once I embraced what felt true to me, things started to click.
The long game over quick wins: Building sustainable success
It’s natural to want fast results. Who doesn’t love the idea of a quick win?
But here’s the truth: long-term, sustainable success doesn’t come from shortcuts. It comes from consistency, experimentation, and a willingness to adapt.
When you focus on the long game, you’re not just building a business, you’re building a foundation.
You’re learning what works and what doesn’t.
You’re discovering your voice, your audience, and your purpose.
And yes, sometimes that means making mistakes or taking detours. But those moments? They’re part of the process, not a failure of it.
How to trust your unique path in business?
So, what’s the takeaway here?
Stop searching for the “right” way and start trusting your way.
Lean into your instincts.
Experiment without fear of judgment.
Give yourself permission to pivot if something doesn’t feel right.
And most importantly, stay patient.
Success takes time, and that’s not a bad thing, it’s what makes the journey meaningful.
Remember, there’s no single road to success in business.
There’s only the road you create for yourself. It might be winding, and it might not always make sense to others.
But if it feels true to who you are? Then you’re on the right path.
